HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!!
Mondays may not be the best day of the week for you. You may think, “damn another week on the hamster wheel.” Or, you partied or relaxed so hard you have the “doing what I want” hangover.
You wake up Monday in a mood. Wishing Monday was Saturday and you were planning your weekend rather than what to wear to work.
Monday mood swings can rob you of at least 12 hours a week if you happen to snap out of it by your first cup of coffee. If you let Monday mood swings run the show that equals:
4 days a month of wasted time.
That is actually 48 days out of your year, spent wishing something was what it isn’t. That sounds like a lot of wasted time to me. Own it! Or, it will own you.
How do you combat Monday mood swings? By controlling your emotions. I know these tips may seem a bit counter intuitive, but try them anyway. Set your alarm to get up the same time on the weekend as you do during the week. This will eliminate that extra attitude from being tired on Monday morning.
Create a ritual around your Monday morning. Honoring it with morning meditation or a special cup of tea.
Change your internal definition about Mondays
Here are a few new ways of looking at Mondays a little different. Mondays are a new beginning, starting over, a do-over, or a clean slate. Try making Monday your day to do something fun that you usually save for the weekend. Monday could become your mani-pedi day, massage day, or treat yourself to a latte day.
Make Monday your random act of kindness day.
Monday mood swings be gone!! It’s time to own them or they will own you.
Controlling your emotions is the best gift you can give to your dreams. When you’re no longer spending time on wishing something was what it isn’t, you’ll have more time to work on your goals.
